
North Carolinians spent slightly less on gambling in December than in November, the state lottery commission said today.
During the month of December, e-gambling account holders wagered $629,520,784 on sports events, and took home $590,889,744. In November, gamblers spent $657,688,077, and won $576,814,804.
An 18 percent gross wagering revenue tax is leveled on all sports bets, by state law. Gross wagering revenue was $35.1 after winnings, providing $6.4 million in revenue for the state.
