Carson Lee Meares, age 57 of Fair Bluff, passed away on September 5, 2021 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, following a recent illness.
Carson was born on March 23, 1964, in Columbus County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Lee and Pauline Davis Meares; his brother, Johnny Robert Meares.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home, Interment will follow in the Meares Family Cemetery, located on Rough and Ready Road, Fair Bluff.
Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Saturday evening, at the Worthington Funeral Home.
Carson was employed by Walmart in Lumberton as meat manager. He was also a farmer and a member of Fair Bluff Fire and Rescue. Carson loved being a girl-dad. He also loved his nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Lynn Pridgen Meares of the home; children, Karsha Leigh Meares, Kristen Meares (Kevin Rising); sister, Ann Meares Griffin (Marcus) of Fair Bluff; mother-in-law, Linda Pridgen of Fair Bluff.
