July 23, 1927 ~ November 20, 2021 (age 94)
Julia Elizabeth Russ Clark, 94, of Clarkton passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Hulda Russ; husband, Ellerbe Clark; daughters: Patricia Clark, Judy Clark Helms; grandson, Thomas Michael Clark and several siblings. Julia leaves behind three sons: Henry Vondell Clark (Chonga-Kim) of Mooresville, Thomas Ellis Clark of Bladenboro, Tillman Russell Clark (Renee) of Clarkton; daughter, Marilyn Clark Melvin (Mike) of Clarkton; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Julia was a compassionate lady who adored her family. She enjoyed the Saturday night sleepovers with her grandchildren, gardening and putting up veggies. She loved to cook Sunday dinner for everyone and the more that came the happier she was. She was famous for her chocolate cakes and pies at the Sunday dinners and was always the last one to eat. Her kind and peaceful spirit will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at 1pm on Monday, November 22nd at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2pm with Rev. Charlie Tatum officiating. Burial will follow services in the Brown Marsh Cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn at service.
