Mrs. Marie Sellers Dawsey 90, of Lake Waccamaw passed on Monday, March 28, 2022. She was born February 5, 1932 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Rev. L.O. Sellers and Alma Greer Sellers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Wright Dawsey, Sr., a son , John Wright Dawsey, Jr.; a sister, Annie Belle Patterson; brothers, Wayne Sellers, David Sellers and Floyd Sellers.
She was a member of Northwood Assembly. She was a retired elementary teacher having taught in the North Carolina and Florida Schools for over 25 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, painting, She was an accomplished seamstress in french hand sewing and was most happy living the majority of her life at Lake George, FL.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose Dawsey (Toby Hall) of Lake Waccamaw; grandchildren, Jonathan Wright Hildreth and his wife, Hollie of Winthrop, ME, Annemarie Rose Rajkowski of Boone; great grandchildren, Everett Hildreth and Oliver Hildreth; a sister, Yvonne Ellis of Whiteville.
The family would like to give their deep appreciation to the caregivers of Mrs. Marie, Sylvia, Ms. T, Patricia, Beverly and Ms. Carlene for the care, love and compassion they showed her.
