Lorraine Mary Pierce, age 90 of Hallsboro, NC passed April 16, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born March 30, 1932 in Boston, MA to the late Edward and Catherine Ford. Also, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Ford and one son, John Howard Pierce.
She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving friends and family, including two sons, Troy J. Pierce (Carol) of Olney, MD and James H. Pierce (Jackie) of Whiteville, NC; one daughter, Cathy Lashley (Robert) of Whiteville, NC; a special niece, Constance Stouffer (David) of Kirkland, IL. Lorraine will fondly be remembered by her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Timothy Pierce (Britta) of Edgewater, FL, Adam Pierce (Laurie) of Ijamsville, MD, Kyle Pierce of Leland, NC, Peyton Lashley (Raegan) of Suffolk, VA, Hank Pierce, John Pierce, Mazie Pierce and Shepherd Pierce of Ijamsville, MD, Bradley and Gray Pierce of Burgaw, NC. She will be deeply missed by her dog, Bell.
Ms. Pierce as she was known, worked as the 5th floor secretary at Columbus County Hospital for 40 years retiring at the age of 80. After retiring, Lorraine spent most of her days sitting on her front porch watching her birds. Her family meant the world to her and she was very involved in their lives.
The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.
Her funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joe Yaeger officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 Lee Street, Whiteville, NC 28472.
