Calvin Stuart Sasser, Jr (Butch Sasser), 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at his home.
He was a native of Hallsboro, NC and the son of Calvin Stuart Sasser and Maggie Adjenora Sasser . He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Stuart Sasser.
He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration. He retired from International Paper as a timber security agent. He was the purveyor of the largest peach orchard in Columbus County, and avid outdoorsman. In retirement, he took joy in keeping his yard mowed and entertaining his five grandchildren with tractor rides.
His funeral service will be held at the Hallsboro United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 17th at 3pm, with Rev. Judy Billings officiating. Burial will follow in the Pierce Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3 pm in the fellowship hall.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Sasser; his son, Justin Brett Sasser; his daughter Amanda Sasser and her husband, William Craig Pope; his mother: Maggie Adjenora Sasser; his sister, Annette Lovick and her husband, Steve Lovick; his five grandchildren, Samuel Sasser, Myles Sasser, Hanley Pope, Will Pope, and Cooper Pope.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Hallsboro United Methodist Church, 1004 Hallsboro Rd. S, Hallsboro, NC 28442.
