Cornelius “Neil” Floyd, 78, of Hallsboro, died on Monday, September 25, 2023, at his home.
Neil was born on August 24, 1945, in Columbus County, son of the late Roy Floyd and Earlie Lee Floyd. Neil was also preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Edward Floyd, Lizzie F. Hammond, Kenneth Floyd and Noah Floyd.
Neil was the type of man who was always doing something; when he wasn’t working with the health department, he was outside building something, managing his mobile home park, riding around on his tractor or just walking around his property, enjoying being outside. He also loved flying his plane, playing the guitar and harmonica and preaching the word of God. Neil was a great dad, loving husband and a very proud grandfather.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Jennifer Leigh Floyd Watts (Austin) of Waxhaw, NC; grandchildren, Austin Watts, Jr. and Robert Neil Watts; siblings, Geneva F. Hall of Whiteville, Mitchell Wayne Floyd (Reeda) of Floyd, VA, Doris Ann F. Smith of Pineville, WV, and many loving nieces and nephews.
