James Boyce Meares, age 79, of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, passed away on November 17, 2023 in Whiteville, NC. He is survived by his wife, Annette Vaught Meares.
Boyce was born in Whiteville, North Carolina to Lawrence J and Cora Lee Meares on August 21, 1944. He attended school in Clarkton and graduated from Clarkton High School. After school, he served in the United States Army. After returning from the Army, he worked on the family farm in Emerson, North Carolina. He married the love of his life, Annette Vaught on March 24, 1973. Besides farming and gardening, Boyce enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Boyce was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence J Meares, his mother, Cora Lee Falls, his brother, Lawrence Lee Meares and his sister, Vera Catherine Meares. Boyce is survived by his wife Annette Meares and his sister, Melinda Ann Heise.
