Lisa Rabon Cartrette, age 58, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Duke University Hospital. Lisa was born on January 25, 1965 in Columbus County to the late father; Boyd Rabon and her mother; Alice White Rabon.
After graduation, she went on to UNC Chapel Hill and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and began a career in nursing working with the school system. Lisa loved quilting which was a gift passed down from her grandmother. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. A passion of hers was to help minister to women who were dealing with breast cancer. Lisa loved her family, friends and her dog.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; Eddie Cartrette, a daughter; Megan Elizabeth Cartrette of Wilmington, her mother; Alice White Pope of Ash, her step father; James Morris Pope of Fairmont, a sister; Sonia Michelle Edwards (Iver) of Clarkton, and a brother; James Matthew Pope of Jacksonville, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Danny Williams and Rev. Willard McPherson officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce Cemetery, Hallsboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
