Elaine Gore Klutz, age 77, of Leland, NC passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, Wilmington, NC on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Elaine was born in Columbus County on October 20, 1946 to the late Daniel Gore and Esther McLamb Gore Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather; Carl J. Davis and her son; Larry Joseph Klutz.
Elaine worked for several years as a convenience store manager. She was a faithful member at Love Ministries. Some of her passions were tending her garden, especially her flowers, shopping at thrift stores and having cookouts and dinners with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Franklin Mishoe of Leland, NC and Larry Klutz (Denise) of Raleigh, NC, her siblings; Daniel W. Gore, Jeffery Davis and Peggy Hayes (Roy) all of Newport News, VA, grandsons; Daniel Klutz (Shana) of Delco, NC and Jacob Klutz (Kaitlyn Johnson) of Leland, NC, 9 other grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Gore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Nakina, NC on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Mintz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
