Hilda S. Formy Duval, 78, of Nakina, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born in Horry County, SC, the daughter of the late William Clyde Smith and the late Geneva Cooke Smith. She worked as an accounting manager for forty-four years with Loris Healthcare System. She was a member of Nakina Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Formy Duval; two daughters, Lynette Alumbaugh of Little River, SC and Karla Moore (Raymond) of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Ayrielle Jackson (Adele), Amber Miller (Ty), Grant Bartlett and Jasmine Swann; a great grandchild, Macey Miller and another due in June; two brothers, Donald Smith (Donna) of Gastonia and Gary Smith (Susie) of Loris, SC; three sisters, Jean Marangelli (Pat Tyler) of Loris, SC, Frances Anderson (Jerry) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Marsha Smith Fowler of Loris, SC; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Smith; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Dillon Jackson; and a brother, Kenneth Smith.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Peacock’s Chapel in Whiteville with Rev. Ricky Donaldson and Rev. Chip Hannah. The family will receive friends at 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park.
