Laurence Judson “Larry” Inman lived well and passed away at the Point in Shallotte, N.C., on February 26, 2024. Larry is survived by Linda Inman, his joyful songbird and wife who shared over 50 years of marriage with him on the intercoastal waterway.
He was blessed with four children with his late wife, Betty Inman Wood – Craig Inman (Carla) of Whiteville, N.C., Kathren Kohler (Mark) of Savannah, GA, Chris McPherson (Joey) of Beaverdam, N.C., and Stephanie Hadley (deceased); seven grandchildren, Jennifer Inman (William), Brittney Kohler (Nate), Ashley Cobb (Carson), Sunni McPherson, Jessie Faulk (Zach), Cassie Kohler Gracone (John), and Justin McPherson (Karlie), as well as ten great-grandchildren.
Born in Nakina N.C., he was adopted by the late Marion L. and Kathleen Inman of Whiteville, N.C., becoming a long time resident of Whiteville and then Shallotte, N.C. In his early years he spent on the family farm, later he found his calling in land development. He told everyone he met he was a sinner saved by grace, and he never met someone he couldn’t talk to. While he caught many a big flounder right off the Point, the biggest fish were the stories he reeled you in about his exploits.
His life was blessed and he believed in thanking the Lord often. He and Linda were members of Highest Praise Church in Shallotte, N.C., where they worshiped & supported their school and mission activities. We will miss this man. He was an original. His family and close friends will be honoring his life in the coming weeks with a ceremony on the point by the tides that shaped his life and love. We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Coastal Companion Care and Liberty Hospice, Karine Eason for their loving care throughout this time of need. We also want to thank Michelle Wells for her time, attention, devotion and love for Larry and Linda as their personal caregiver.
There will be a celebration of life service for Larry and Linda (Who recently passed of February 28th 2024) Inman on Monday, March 4th at 11:00am at Shallotte Pointe.
