Jerry Wayne Batten, 78, of Clarkton, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Henry Batten, Sr. and Reba Ann Atkinson Batten; his loving wife, Wanda Faye Dowless Batten; and siblings, Wilbert Henry “Joe” Batten Jr., Juanita Batten Miner, Jean Batten Hinson, and Sandra Batten Godwin.
Survivors include two daughters, Hope Lynn Batten of Melfa, VA and Ginger Yvonne Lacefield of Beaufort, SC; brother, Christopher Batten (Mary Kate) of Whiteville grandchildren, Xzavier Lacefield, Sophia Lacefield, Josie Lacefield, and Mazie Lacefield.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Coy Long officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
