Mr. Legrande Powers (Buster) 69, of Whiteville, NC transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC. He was the son of the late Mr. Clayton Powers and Mother Hannah Ford Powers of Columbus County, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Powers will be conducted on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 1:30 pm from the Brunswick Waccamaw Baptist Association Headquarters, 600 Pine Log Road, Whiteville, NC with Bishop C.S. Piggott eulogizing. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery with Military Honors.
Mr. Powers is survived by his brothers: Samuel Powers of Whiteville, NC, Bishop Willie L. Powers (Sheila) of Whiteville, NC; sisters: Janie R. Powers of Camden, NJ, and Gloria A. Powers of Whiteville, NC, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 3 to 6 pm in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the Brunswick Waccamaw Baptist Association Headquarters.
