Linda Collins Avant, 80, of Evergreen, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville.
Linda was born on March 12, 1944 in Robeson County to the late Gregory Collins and Nannie Britt. She was also preceded in death by a sister Nannie Pearl Freeman; grandchildren, James Patrick Carter, Landis Jake Nix, and Bree Johnson.
Graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Avant Family Cemetery in Evergreen.
Survivors include her husband, James Thomas “Tommy” Avant of the home; children, Lorie Collins Coleman (Mark), Linda Gail Carter, Brenda Kaye Johnson, Shelley Dawn Nix (Michael) all of Evergreen; two brothers, Ronnie Collins, and Lonnie Collins (Nancy) all of Evergreen; grandchildren, Tara Britt (Tracy), Jeremy Grainger (Brandi), Travis Coleman, Justin Coleman (Alyssa), Crystal Britt, Jonathan Carter (Kourtney), Keith Johnson, Jody Johnson (Jessica), Travis Johnson, Louann Johnson (Graham), Austin Lanier (Alexis), Kenzie Nix, Morgan Nix, Brayden Price; 32 great-grandchildren; host of nieces & nephews.
