The N.C. Pesticide Board announced Friday that it had settled a case against a local cropduster.
Hugh Cundiff, an apprentice spray pilot for Moore’s Aerial Applicators, was fined $1,200 because an application targeted at a farm field in Columbus County drifted onto a road and residential yard. Moore’s is based in Sampson County.
Four other cases were settled by the Pesticide Board, including unlicensed sales, expired application licenses, improper applications and the use of mothballs as an outdoor pest deterrent.
