The 2025 Lake Waccamaw Gator Festival was a huge success this year. More than 200 participants showed up for the Gator Fest Fun Run, while local entities and artisans set up for the vendor market. Even the ‘Insta Gator’ put in an appearance at the annual celebration. The Kids’ Zone included games, the Flamingo Foam Party, and a petting zoo. The Columbus Baptist Association, Engage Life Church, Columbus County Emergency Services, Columbus Regional Healthcare, the Columbus County Partnership for Children, and so many others were part of the festivities.
Mayor Matt Wilson was in attendance with his wife Tori, and he praised Town Clerk Meredith Chandler, Ginger Littrell, and the festival committee for their hard work in putting together the big event.
“We have them to thank for all of this. They took it and ran with it. I couldn’t be prouder,” expressed Wilson.
