December 3, 1943 ~ June 25, 2025 (age 81)
Jack Warren Rising, 81, of Clarendon, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Jack was born on December 3, 1943, son of the late Charles Marcus Rising and Clara Odell Hewett Rising. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Rising, Jr., Douglas Rising and Clyde Rising.
Celebration of life services with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Chadbourn Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor John McPherson and Pastor Lawrence Brewer officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
Jack was a man who loved people dearly and he was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family; Jack’s four greatest joys were: God, his family, his country, and his church! Jack, along with his brother, Douglas, organized the Chadbourn Church of Prophecy, of which he was a member for 59 years. Because of Jack’s devoted service to God, what started as a mission has now developed into a wonderful place of worship. He also served his country in the United States Air Force, of which he was proud veteran.
The surviving family includes his wife of 59 years, Carrie Johnson Rising of the home; children, Marcus Rising (Tiffany) of Tabor City, Tonya Rising (Fonz Benson) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Sarah Harrelson of Durango, CO, Haley Rising of Raleigh, Landon Rising (Maddy) of Chadbourn, Ambi Benson of Charlotte; sister, Rebecca Diane Rising of Wilmington.
The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Jack’s caregivers, Angie Little, Lisa Nobles, Samantha Williamson, Deane Batten. Also, the family wishes to thank the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the loving care shown not only to Jack, but to the entire family during his illness.
