Several months ago we looked into the eatery options in both the Tabor City and the West Columbus areas. Today I am jumping into the east side of the county. There are some surprising things to explore in this section, several that have been in place for 30 years or more, continuing to hold down food service for their communities. These are the grills, diners, and restaurants to stop and get hot food, served to you.
I don’t want to get in trouble for forgetting anyone here, so I apologize ahead of time if I have left out a vendor in this area

Angelina’s Pizza and Subs – Italian
China Garden – Chinese
Home Run/Hunt Bros Pizza – Pizza and wings, peanuts, sandwich shop, American diner
Council and Bolton:
Freeman’s Grill – Grill
Corner Grill – American diner
Delco and Riegelwood:
Delco Mart/Hunt Bros Pizza – Pizza and wings
Domino’s Pizza – Pizza and wings
Hwy 55 – Grill/Ice cream
Good Boy’s Hot Dogs – Grill *Seasonal
Heather Rae’s Comfort Cooking – American diner
Minuteman Food Mart – Hot bar/grill
Subway – Subs and salads
Exxon/Krispy Crunchy Chicken – Hot bar/grill
Han-Dee Hugo’s – Hot Bar/Grill
*There are also a few food truck vendors that service this area regularly and I don’t have their info.
So from fresh seafood to pizza and burgers and daily home cooked specials at a sit-down diner, there are a lot of options with surprising variety out in the east side to get your belly full.
As always I encourage you to keep our local business supported and full of business. These folks are the life-blood of our economy here in Columbus County. If you haven’t been to some of these spots, stop in and check out the offerings here.
