It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Edward Frink 63 of Chadbourn, NC; who departed this life on June 26, 2025.
He will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him; burial will be private at a later.
James Edward Frink was born on March 12, 1962, in Chadbourn, North Carolina, to the late Douglas Roosevelt Frink and Tilla Battle Frink. On June 26, 2025, James was called to his eternal rest.
James was a beacon of love, compassion, and warmth. Known for his infectious smile and generous spirit, he touched the lives of many. After graduation from West Columbus High School, he relocated to New York City, where he embraced a life filled with adventure, music and community.
A talented DJ, James shared his passion for music, once gracing the airwaves of community radio, uplifting countless listeners. His presence left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege to know him.
James was preceded in death by his beloved son, James “Mikey” Frink, his brothers Thomas Ronel Frink, Roosevelt Douglas Frink and sister Patricia Frink.
James is survived survived by his loving mother, Tilla Battle Frink of Chadbourn, NC; his sisters, Nancy Joyce McKellar of Cerro Gordo, NC, Kathleen Anderson (Audrey) of Fair Bluff, NC, and Shelvia McCray of Bladenboro, NC; his brothers, Ronnie Frink (Elizabeth) of Warner Robins, GA, and Ricky Frink (Girfel) of Chadbourn, NC.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Lashoney Frink Southern of Knightdale, NC, Synard James Frink of New York, NY, Quanisha Frink of New York, NY and Amani Ballard of Fair Bluff, NC
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren………………………..as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who cared, loved him dearly.
We ask that you remember James not for his life ending, but for how it was lived – with courage, generosity, and unwavering love. Though his physical presence will be missed, his spirit will continue to live within all of us.
