On a warm Saturday morning in Elizabethtown, one of Bladen’s own came back for a camp and a cause.
Larrell Murchison returned home to over 300 people for his Fifth Annual Community Day at Elizabethtown Middle School. The Fun Day included a football camp for the children with NFL instruction, a giveaway with 100 stuffed book bags, and raffles for NFL game items like gloves, footballs, jerseys, cleats, and plus other memorabilia. Paul Brown Leadership Academy did the colors and National Anthem while DJ Al “Boogie” Lewis provided musical entertainment. There were also venders and a car show.
The East Bladen Eagle graduated Louisburg Junior College in 2016 and was named JUCO All-American Honorable Mention while there. He later earned 2nd Team All-ACC Honors while attending NC State. 2020 saw the Tennessee Titans pick up Murchison in the fifth round of the NFL draft. After a couple of years in Tennessee, he was waived and picked up by the Los Angeles Rams. He recently re-signed a one year contract with the Rams in March.
One of the reasons for the Community Day is the charity Murchison supports, the Never Without Foundation. The NWF specializes in making communities a safe environment for children. The second is the children. Murchison stated he always looking for an opportunity to put a smile on a kid’s face and lift their spirits. He wants to do this every year as long as he can.
Murchison will return to Rams training camp on July 22.
