Ms. Dorothy McKenzie 90, of the Mt. Olive community of Whiteville, NC gave the Lord her hand on Sunday, August 10, 2025, and entered eternity. She was the daughter of the late Mr. George McKenzie and Mrs. Pinkie Bellamy McKenzie.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. McKenzie will be conducted on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm from Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where the pastor is Dr. Timothy A. Lance. Pastor Algernon McKenzie will be eulogizing. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery #2.
Ms. McKenzie was the last of six siblings. Preceded in death are her two brothers: Marvin McKenzie and James McKenzie, three sisters: Rev. Cohilda McKenzie-Lyons, Marsless Mary McKenzie, and Eloise McKenzie Powell.
Ms. McKenzie is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Gwendolyn McKenzie Beard, two sons: George McKenzie and Michael McKenzie, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
