Parkway Hearings Postponed Due to Weather

Due to forecasted weather for North Carolina and South Carolina early next week, the department has postponed the upcoming public hearings for Carolina Bays Parkway Extension.

NCDOT and SCDOT are proposing to extend Carolina Bays Parkway (S.C. 31) from its current location at S.C. 9 in Horry County, S.C., across the North Carolina state line to U.S. 17 in Brunswick County near Shallotte. The proposed improvement is a multi-lane full access freeway partially on a new location. The primary purpose of the project is to improve transportation in the area by enhancing mobility and connectivity for traffic in the project area.

Staff will reschedule the meetings for a later date.
