Hereβs todayβs Bottom Line
Dry conditions will continue for the next 7 days. Today will be considerably warmer than yesterday… and Sunday will be warmer than today.
A strong cold front will move through Sunday night. This *might* trigger an isolated light rain shower, but most of the dynamics will push well off to our north… dynamics and a bona fide severe weather threat as well. But little, if anything, for Columbus County.
Dry weather and cool temps on Monday quickly warm up on Tuesday… before another front moves through late Tuesday night. We remain dry through all of this. Temps will be a bit below normal to round out the work week.
The NWS model blend has a big zero for precipitation for Columbus County through the 25th of October.Β On the whole I am in agreement, but again, there may be a few isolated light rain showers Sunday night with the frontal passage.
TROPICS: The National Hurricane Center is still watching two areas. The first one is located in the north Atlantic. An area of low pressure will meander over the warm waters of the Gulf Stream over the weekend, but the clock is ticking as it will eventually move back over colder waters. It *might* develop into a subtropical depression but the NHC only gives it a 10%/10% chance.
The second area is more interesting. I’ve been saying for a while now to watch the Caribbean as conditions are becoming more favorable. Sure enough, a tropical wave will eventually make its way into this favorable zone over the next several days. The NHC gives this a 0%/30% chance for developing over the next 7 days, and I’ll be watching this one.
There are no tropical threats to the Carolinas for the foreseeable future.

Please note, as there are no weather concerns, there will be no DWU blog for Sunday as I am traveling. See ya Monday!
