Mr. William Roy Ball 92, of Whiteville passed on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Lower Cape Fear Angel House, Whiteville. He was born November 19, 1933 in Onslow County, the son of the late Roy and Lola Futrell Ball.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Sue Thorton Ball; two sons, William Alton Ball (Hong) of Cary and Wendell Roy Ball (Elizabeth) of Youngsville; a daughter, Jodi Lynne Ball Council (Mark) of Surf City; grandchildren, Amy Zhang (Sawyer) of Morrisville, Jonathan Council (Peden) of Sugar Grove, Brett Council (Kendall) and their daughter, Elowyn of Leland, Jason Council of Wilmington, Creighton Ball of Emerald Isle, Rachael Ball of Youngsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Ball, two sisters, Edna Jordan and Shirley Miller.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 6, 2025, graveside at the Bright Cemetery with Rev. Howard James and Rev. Paul Stallsworth officiating.
His family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, December 5, 2025 at Peacock Funeral Home.
