Eagles Trample Titans

ELIZABETHTOWN—East Bladen literally ran over Heide Trask 41-0 in football on Thursday night, as the Eagles rushed for 402 yards in the victory at Lenon Fisher Stadium.

The Eagles scored on their first drive as Jayden Lewis crossed the goal line from two yards out to give East Bladen an early 8-0 lead with the two-point conversion. The Eagles really got things rolling in the second quarter as Riley Collins found the end zone from one yard away to push the lead to 15-0. Andrio Garcia added the PAT.

Jayden Lewis added to the lead with 3:20 remaining in the second quarter and gave East Bladen a 21-0 advantage. The PAT failed. Lewis crossed the goal line for his third touchdown on the night to make the score 27-0 at the half.

The third quarter did not get any better for the Titans from Heide Trask. Riley Collins scored from two yards out for the Eagles to give them a 34-0 lead early in the third. East Bladen’s Prince Mckoy scored from four yards away to put the Eagles ahead 41-0 later in the third. That would be the final score of the night.

Jayden Lewis led the Eagles with three touchdowns, and 138 yards on 19 carries. Riley Collins ended the night with 95 yards on 17 carries to go with his two touchdowns. Prince McKoy added 87 yards on the ground with his touchdown.

With 402 yards rushing, the Eagles didn’t pass much or need to. Three pass attempts and a 21-yard completion from quarterback Ryne Priest to Lakota Schmale was all the Eagles did on the night.  East

Bladen did its job on defense on the night also. Heide Trask could only muster 80 yards of offense on the night.

East Bladen (1-0) will travel to Dublin to face the Knights on Aug. 28 in the county-rivalry Battle for The Bell contest, as Heide Trask (0-1)  hosts East Columbus (1-0).
