August 26, 1939 ~ July 5, 2021 (age 81)
Mr. James Earl Carroll of Whiteville passed on July 5, 2021. He was born August 26, 1939 in Columbus County, the son of the late Roland Carroll and Roxanne Simmons Carroll.
James retired from International Paper after seventeen years. He owned and operated Carroll’s Machine Shop. He was a member of the Whiteville Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death in 2014 by his wife of 53 years, Estalene Fowler Carroll; his parents; two brothers, Junior and Paul Carroll; two sisters, Mary Lou Todd and Carlene Woodell.
He is survived by a son, Roland “Kookie” Carroll of Whiteville, a sister, Kathleen Gore of Whiteville; grandchildren, Joshua Carroll and wife, Brittany of Whiteville and Brinkley Carroll and fiance, Austin Lee of Whiteville, a great grandson, Layton James Carroll.
His funeral service with military honors will be at 3:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2021 graveside at Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park by Rev. Tim Rausch.
His family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.
