JoAnn Gore of Riegelwood, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.  She was born in Columbus County on May 15, 1955 to the late Homer Roland Gore and Estus Irene Gore.  In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her two brothers; Roland Gore and Levern Gore.

JoAnn graduated from Acme Delco High School in 1973 and went on to work as a Nuclear Operator for 29 years. 

She is survived by her four sisters; Louise Lavin (Stanley) of Delco, Rhonda Price (Rick) of Rigby, Idaho, Gail Gore (Stevie) of Riegelwood and Frances Jacobs (Dean) of Bolton, nieces; Ann Young (Matt), Melissa Gore, Taylor Jacobs, Makayla Jacobs, Haley Gore, Maya Patrick and Hannah Gore, and nephews; Brian Bennett, Roland Gore II, Stanley Lavin II, Devin Jacobs, Mickey Strickland, and Jesse Gore.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 104 Hwy 87, Riegelwood, NC, at 2:30 pm with Rev. Chris Humphreys officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gore’s Chapel Church Cemetery, Nakina, NC.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the church fellowship hall from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. 

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund in care of the address listed.
