MLB: The Players Union and the league’s virtual meeting yesterday did not produce any new good news on the lockout. Opening day for the 2022 season is March 31 and it is the first time since 1968 that all teams are scheduled to play on opening day. If both sides cannot come to an agreement before the season starts, it will be the first time since 1993 the league has stopped regular season play. 

NBA: Last Night’s Action

Bucks beat the Warriors 118-99. 30-point, 12 rebounds and 11 assist triple-double for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Steph Curry finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Clippers lost to the Pelicans 113-89 

The Grizzlies won 116-108 over the Timberwolves. 11 game win streak for Memphis. 

Thunder beat the Nets 130-109 

Trail Blazers lose big to the Nuggets 140-108

Celtics at the 76ers 7pm 

Suns versus the Pacers 7pm

The Blue Jackets blanked the Hurricanes 6-0. Carolina is back on the ice tomorrow afternoon at 2pm versus the Canucks at the PNC Arena. 

Bruins win 3-2 over the Flyers 

Canucks lost 4-2 to the Lightning  

Jets beat the Red Wings 3-0  

The Devils lost 3-2 to the Islanders 

Sabres beat the Predators 4-1 

Kraken loose to the Blues 2-1 

The Blackhawks win in overtime 3-2 versus the Canadiens 

Senators win 4-1 over the Flames 

Kings lost to the Penguins 6-2

NCAA Men’s Basketball: Last Night

Coastal Carolina lost a close one to Appalachian State 61-60 

Winthrop 86-80 in overtime over UNC-Ashville 

UTEP lost to Charlotte 66-53 

Citadel beats UNC Greensboro 74-69 

North Carolina State travels to Duke tomorrow. 2pm ABC 

The Tar Heels face the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech tomorrow at 8pm, on the ACC Network. 


LOCAL SPORTS: Varsity Boys Basketball

The Whiteville Wolfpack goes against Pender tonight. The game is scheduled for 7pm in Pender. It was rescheduled from the other night. 

West Columbus versus South Columbus at 4pm. South Columbus is still looking for their first win of the season (0-13). 

Girls Varsity Basketball: 

West Columbus (0-8) at South Columbus (0-13), rescheduled from the other night 4pm. Both teams are still looking for their first win. 

Whiteville Lady Wolfpack (5-7) is in Pender tonight at 6pm. Also rescheduled earlier this week.
