A few days ago the world lost an unparalleled mother, grandmother, and sister. Lessie Denise “Nesi” Jackson, age 61, of Cerro Gordo, North Carolina died on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, North Carolina.
Nessi, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 16, 1961. She was the daughter of the late George Williams and Betty Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 5333 Andrew Jackson Hwy SW, Chadbourn, North Carolina with Reverend Andrico Chestnut as eulogist. Burial will follow the service at her home at 127 Pine Street, Cerro Gordo, North Carolina.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel.
She is survived by her sons, Loron Jackson of Cerro Gordo, North Carolina and Jamon Jackson (Toni) of Chadbourn, North Carolina; three grandsons Jamon Jackson, Jr., Ziy’Mir Jackson, and Zay’Den Jackson all of Chadbourn, North Carolina; sister Patrina Jackson (Malcolm) of Whiteville, North Carolina; and brother William Jackson (Debbie) of Bladenboro, North Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests at 127 Pine Street Cerro Gordo, North Carolina. Per the family request, all guests are asked to please wear facial coverings.
