Submitting to the predestined will of God, our personal and funeral home family are consoling the remaining loved ones of Mother Bessie Lee Ripley as they attempt to cope with this great loss. The Ripley’s family circle was forever changed early Thursday morning, March 10, 2022 when Ms. Bessie quietly went to sleep in the bosom of Jesus Christ while resting at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

The services that will honor this Virtuous Matriarch have been orchestrated by her devoted family and will begin on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, between the hours of 3pm and 5pm for reflecting moments while Mother Bessie lies in a peaceful state of repose in the main chapel on the premises of Majestic Funeral Homes’ Elizabethtown Campus. A Triumphant Grand Finale Celebration remembering this precious jewel will begin at 1pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Whiteville, NC. Immediately following the farewell celebration, Mother Ripley’s physical vessel and her cherished family will be escorted to Campground Cemetery in Whiteville, NC for Committal Rites. One can only imagine the void Mother Bessie’s family will have doing things that once involved her, but all can find solace knowing that this world was simply a dressing room. Now she has earned her glorious crown of righteousness and beautiful custom long white robe, and she is touring the streets paved with pure gold, awaiting that day when she will see all of her loved ones yet again in glory.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, two daughters: Robertha Powers (Samuel) and Marian Young (Wesley) both of Whiteville, NC; two sons: Kellop Young, Jr.(Joyce) of Whiteville, NC and Joshua Young (Shelia) of Tampa, FL; two sisters: Jessie Bell Jones of Durham, NC and Rose Lee McNeil of Wilmington, NC; three brothers: Ang Faison of Tampa, FL, LD Faison (Carol) of Tampa, FL and Thomas Faison of Chadbourn, NC and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family is receiving love and encouragement through visits and calls at the residence located at 106 Young Lane, Whiteville NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Majestic Ebony Motorcade.

The Compassionate Professionals at Majestic Funeral Home of Elizabethtown are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
