Margie Barefoot Lanehart entered her eternal home on April 14, 2022 at the age 96. She was born December 26, 1925 in Columbus County, NC to the late Clarence and Nettie Barefoot and the widow of Currie D. Wooten being married for 47 years and James Weldon Lanehart. Also, preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jean Wooten of Clarkton.
She was a lifetime member of Western Prong Baptist Church. She was known in her community as an excellent baker especially her cakes and pies.
Her visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rick Weidman officiating. Burial will follow in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park.
