Shelby Jean (Davis) Hinson

Shelby Jean Davis Hinson, age 68 of Cerro Gordo, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2022, while in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.

Shelby Jean was born on September 21, 1953, to the late J.B. Davis and Ruby Jacqueline Beard Davis. She was also preceded by her siblings, Ray Davis and Linda Lewis, and her great- granddaughter, Everleigh Haylynn Hinson.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45, prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.            

Survivors include her husband, Craig McKenzie Hinson, Sr. of the home; sons, Craig M. Hinson, Jr. of Whiteville, Kyle Andrew Hinson (Celsey) of Cerro Gordo; siblings, Patsy D. Tatum (Earl) of Whiteville, Mary Ellen Bright (Charles) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Michael Hinson (Leanne), Cheyanne Hinson, Elaine Starnes (Glen), Kylie Hinson; great-grandchildren, Aisley Hinson, Madeline Hinson, Dean Hinson, Maxton Starnes, Weston Starnes, Vada Starnes, and Laikyn Young.
