Lindy “Calvin” Brown, age 84, of Chadbourn, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Greenbrier of Fairmont Assisted Living and Memory Care in Fairmont, North Carolina.
Calvin as he was affectionately known, was born on January 7, 1938. He was the son of the late John Brown and Smithie J. Williamson Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Baby Boy Brown; brothers Walter(Buster), Melvin, Saul(Jessie), and Senous(Billy); his sisters Sauline and Margie; a granddaughter Krystal Symone Lathon and great-grandson Mark Anthony McCray Jr.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel, 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Townsend Temple Holiness Church, 273 Smith Lane Bolton, NC 28423 with Pastor Ruthlene Freeman officiating.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife of sixty-three years Lessie Mae Brown; four daughters Vickie Brown, Angela Lathon(Ted), Katherine Brown, and Stacey Leggett(Clayton); two sons Garry McCray(Tamika) and Jeffrey McCray; a sister Pauline Graham; fourteen grandchildren Calvin Boatwright, Lessie Essex, LaJeffery McCray, Shane Johnson, Tamika Brown, Jerome Essex, Garry McCray Jr., Jordan Leggett, Mark McCray, Trevor Leggett, Bontreal, Shanita, Tyree, and Tamisha; and nineteen great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
