Carolyn Creech Wayne, age 82, of Whiteville, NC went to her heavenly home Friday, July 1, 2022. She was born February 16, 1940 in Columbus County, NC to the late Howard and Eva Powell Creech. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wayne; her infant child, Christy Wayne; her sister, Melanie Creech and her infant grandchildren, Hunter Wayne and Chansley Wayne.
She is survived by her daughter, Revonda Wayne of Whiteville; her sons, Kevin Wayne and his wife, Melanie of Lake Waccamaw and Eric Wayne of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Jessica Wayne Lewis and her husband, Matthew of Hallsboro, Kasey Faulk of Jacksonville, Forrest Wayne and his wife, Blair of Lake Waccamaw and Kirklyn Wayne Scott and her husband, Alex of Lake Waccamaw; her great-grandchildren, Kylie, Sara, Sammie, Max, Andrew, Jase, Gavin, Aidalyn and Ellie.
Carolyn was a lifelong member of White Marsh Baptist Church where she played piano for more than 60 years as well as the organ for a number of years. She graduated from Hallsboro High School and received a degree from Miller Motte Technical College. She retired from Southeastern Community College.
Her visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at White Marsh Baptist Church with Rev. Titus Caraway officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to White Marsh Baptist Church.
