Ezell Askew, 90, of Hallsboro, NC, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 3, at Mount Hebron AME Zion Church, 570 Red Bug Road, Hallsboro, NC, by Pastor Cornelius Wesley. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Cutler Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw, NC.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Mitchell Askew; daughters, Gloria McLean of Charlotte, NC, Chuwanda Britt and Ursula Jones of Greenville, SC; sons, Ezell Askew, Jr. of Lido, CA and Michael Hall of Shannon, NC; sister, Lois Hooks of Enterprise, AL.
