Wilson Jacobs

June 1, 1933 ~ November 26, 2023 (age 90)

Wilson Jacobs, 90, of Buckhead, North Carolina went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was born June 1, 1933 in Columbus County, the son of the late Willie and Idell Jacobs. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reatha Mae Sampson Jacobs; his parents, Idell and Willie Jacobs; a son, Keith Alvin Jacobs; a daughter, Bernice Jacobs Patrick and husband, Johnny Rudolph Patrick; his brother, Welton Jacobs; his brother, Morris Jacobs and wife Doris Jacobs; his sister Mary Lee Jacobs Goodman and husband Wendell Goodman, his sister Letha Mae Strickland and husband Harold Strickland, his sister, Lollie Mae Jacobs Rains and husband, Sheriff Harold Rains; a brother-in-law, Lock Locklear; a grandson Triston Lowery and a great grandson, Lincoln Jacobs.

He is survived by four sons: Stacey Jacobs and wife, Carmelita of Bolton, N.C, Ray Goodman and wife, Rose of Bolton, N.C., Jeffery Goodman and wife, Trish of Shannon, NC, Jerry Goodman of Cerro Gordo, N.C; three daughters, Lesia Locklear & Harvey of Pembroke NC, Renee Cole and husband, Greg of Cerro Gordo, Ramona Lowery of Pembroke NC; a daughter in law, Sheila Jacobs of Bolton; a sister, Polly Locklear of Pembroke, N.C., eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; along with so many more nieces and nephews.

He served as the president of the Buckhead Hunting club for 38 years. Wilson loved to farm and share his garden vegetables with everyone. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his grandson Chad. He loved to joke and laugh with all his family and friends. He was one of the best carpenters around and loved to teach anyone the skills he has learned in his long life. He and his brothers, Morris and Welton Jacobs helped build some of the structures along UNC Wilmington and Campbell University, and some of his welding skills are displayed as far as Canada.

His funeral will be Thursday November 30, 2023 at 2:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior at 1:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church.
