John Charles Peal, Sr. age 80, of Sneads Ferry and formally of Lake Waccamaw, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington, NC.
John was born on April 6, 1943, son of the late W.I. Peal, Jr. and Margaret Wilson Lewis Peal; he was also preceded in death by his brother, William Irving “Willy” Peal, III.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27,2024,4 at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will speak to friends following the burial.
John was employed by Columbus County Schools for 37 years, serving as an educator.
The surviving family includes his wife, Terri Hill Peal; two sons, John C. Peal, Jr. (Denise), Stacy Peal (Casey); daughter, Tania Britt Meares (Elvin); grandchildren, Kate Peal, Wyatt Peal, Justin Meares, Tristan Britt, Madison Meares, Morgan Meares; great-grandson, Thayden Savage; brother, George “Buddy” Peal (Ann), and a host of loving nieces & nephews.
