Miriam Huggins Gore, age 85, of the Beaverdam Community, died Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Whiteville, NC. Born October 2, 1938 in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Howard Huggins and Mary Hair Huggins and the widow of Jesse “Rusty” Alton Gore.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Alton Gore of Chadbourn, NC; one daughter, Sharon Gore Harris (Mark) of Loris, SC; six grandchildren, Michael Gore, Jessica Maultsby (Zack), Joseph Alton Gore II (Katie), Ashley Harris, Bobby Gore (Morgan), and John Mark Harris; and four great grandchildren, Liam Maultsby, Jake Gore, Riley Gore, and Camden Gore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Arthur Timothy Gore; two brothers, Harold Huggins and Wilton Huggins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the McPherson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church Women’s Auxiliary or the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church Children’s Fund.
