Old Lumberton Road near Research Drive will close July 8 for the replacement of a 75-year-old bridge.
The bridge, which was built in 1949, crosses part of Western Prong. Both lanes of the road will be closed between Red Store and Peacock Roads, according to Andrew Barksdale of the Dept. of Transportation. The closure will last until Sept. 8.
The bridge will be demolished and replaced with a large culvert, Barksdale said.
