02/07/2022 Daily Sports Wrap Up 

Olympics:  The United States currently has three Silver Medals. Julia Marino in snow board slopestyle, Jaelin Kauf in freestyle singles Mogel, and Madison Chock and Evan Bates for Ice dancing. 

NBA:  The trade deadline is Thursday. 

Last Night:  76ers defeat Bulls 119-108. Joel Embiid continues to play at an MVP level, he finished with 40 points and 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan did all he could do to keep the Bulls in it, DeRozan ended the game with 45 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. 

Nets fall against the Nuggets 124-104. Kyrie 27 points and 11 assists for the Nets. Nikola Jokic puts in another triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists for Denver. Jokic has also been playing at an MVP level, that was his 14th triple double of the season. 

Pistons lost to the Timberwolves 118-105. Karl-Anthony Towns had a strong game with 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves. 

Hawks got bucked by the Mavericks 103-94. Luka Doncic had foul trouble, but he still managed to score a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for Dallas. 

Cavaliers lost to the Pacers 98-95 

Celtics dispel the Magic 116-83. Jaylen Brown threw down a dunk on 7-footer Mo Bamba and led the Celtics with 26 points.  

Rockets beat the Pelicans 120-107. Brandon Ingram had 23 points and 12 assists for New Orleans. 

Bucks stampede the Clippers 137-113. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the game with 28 points and 11 rebounds, Dru Holiday ended with 27 points and 13 assists, and Bobby Portis scored 24 points for the Bucks. 

Tonight:  Raptors are in Charlotte to face the Hornets tonight at 7pm in the Spectrum Center. 

Heat versus the Wizards 7pm 

Suns and Bulls 8pm NBA TV 

Thunder hosts the warriors at 8pm 

Knicks at Jazz 9pm 

NHL:  The Hurricanes are back after the All-Star break on the ice Feb 7, in Toronto. 

NCAA Men’s Basketball Tonight:  UNC-Wilmington at Hofstra 5pm CBS Sports Network 

Charlotte travels to Florida-International 5pm 

Virginia is at Duke at 7pm on ESPN 

UNC Greensboro versus Western Carolina 7pm 

Tomorrow:  North Carolina Tar Heels are in Clemson 7pm ACC Network 

East Carolina at Tulsa 8pm 


NFL:  Mike McDaniel is hired as Miami Dolphins’ new head coach. Miami and McDaniel agree to a four-year deal. Mike McDaniel was the San Francisco 49ers this past season. He now becomes the youngest head coach in the NFL. 

Alvin Kamara was arrested on a Battery charge after allegedly assaulting a man inside a night club after the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. Kamara paid the bond and was released. No comment has been released from the Saints organization. 

NASCAR:  Joey Lagano won the Busche Light Clash at the Coliseum yesterday, that is Team Penske in case you did not know.

Local Sports: Columbus County schools Varsity basketball returns to action tomorrow.
