Douglas Wilson Beck, Sr., age 79, of Tabor City, NC, died Monday, February 14, 2022 in the McLeod Loris Hospital. Born April 26, 1942 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Wilson Beck and Anna Bell Soles Beck.
He was a member of the New Horizon Baptist Worship Center, where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife: Leona Ward Beck; two sons: Douglas Beck, Jr. and wife Sherry of Whiteville, NC and Steven Beck and wife Tammy of Tabor City, NC; one daughter: Renee Beck Penny of Tabor City, NC; two brothers: David Beck of North Wilkesboro, NC and Kelly Beck of Greenville, NC; two sisters: Lenore Taylor of Lumberton, NC and Susan Beck Manteo, NC; two grandchildren: Steven Beck, Jr. and wife Miranda and Houston Penny; two great grandchildren: Kealyn Reece Beck and Sadie Rae Beck; special sister in-law: Jean Bass of Lumberton, NC; special nephew: Anthony Grainger: two great nieces: Hali Grainger and Bryana Grainger; and one great great niece: Kenli Grainger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Anita Bordeaux and Mary Ann Elmore.
A graveside service, officiated by Dr. Tom Ward, will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the New Horizon Baptist Worship Center Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
The family has requested that all attendees wear a mask.
