Brenda Jacobs Moore, age 71 of the Buckhead Community of Bolton, NC died Friday, April 15, 2022 in her home. She was born July 16, 1950 in Columbus County, NC to the late Robert and Zadie Young Jacobs.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Moore of the home; her sons, Noel Moore of the home and J.D Moore and his wife, Kimberly of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren, Rain Locklear, Kaden Moore and Kara Moore; her great-grandchildren, Mila Locklear and Liam Freeman; special grandchildren, Devan Young and Ryder Caison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Moore; her brothers, Jerry Jacobs, Lloyd Jacobs and Carson Jacobs; her sisters, Kay Jacobs and Elsie Jacobs.
Mrs. Brenda was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and an active member of her community and loved her Native American heritage. She was known to gift beaded feathers for all the Native American students graduating high school and college with their school colors to wear on their graduation caps. Mrs. Brenda was one of the first North Carolina Native American Woman Pathmakers and worked for over 30 years as the director of the Waccamaw-Siouan Daycare. During her latter-years, she was the Administrator for the American Indian Housing Authority.
Her visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Don Carter, Rev. Howard Jacobs and Rev. Mike Jacobs officiating. Graveside services will follow the service in the church cemetery.
