Joey Elkins of Clarkton, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.
Joey, as he was lovingly known, was born on September 26, 1956, in Columbus County to the late George Willis Elkins and Katie Belle McLaughlin Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Western Prong Baptist Church, with Pastor Ronnie Wilson officiating; interment will follow in the Shipman Cemetery (Hwy 701, Clarkton).
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45, prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Annette McCulloch Elkins of the home; son, Christopher Joe Elkins of the home; siblings, Christina E. Richardson of Bladenboro, Nancy E. Mishue (Roger) of Durham, Kathy E. Powell (Mark) of Whiteville, Luther Elkins (Dinah) of Clarkton, Jerry Elkins of Clarkton, Ronnie Elkins of Clarkton, Roger Elkins of Lake Waccamaw, Jeff Elkins (Glenda) of Clarkton and Johnny Elkins of Clarkton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Western Prong Baptist Church Discipleship Outreach Center: 167 Peacock Road, Whiteville, NC 28472.
