Billy Tompkins age 82, of Tabor City died Saturday, September 24, 2023, in McLeod Loris Hospital, Loris, SC. Born in Columbus County, NC he was the son of the late Pounce Tompkins and Pearl Cartrette Tompkins.
He was a member of Jones Street Missionary Baptist Church, Tabor City.
He is survived by his wife, Esther F. Tompkins of Tabor City, NC, three sons, Tony Tompkins (Angela), Mickey Tompkins (Kellie), Rickey Tompkins (Tera) all of Tabor City, NC, three daughters, Angela Dudney (Charles) of Tabor City, NC, Teresa Soles (Mike) of Tabor City, NC, Billie Fowler (Kent) Bombay, FL. Twenty grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, five great- great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan Tompkins, Benny Tompkins, & Willie Tompkins: four sisters, Mary Sellers, Essie Mae Bryant, Edith Bullock, & Jenette Fowler.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 3:00pm in Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
