The annual Martin Luther King Day walk will be Jan. 13 starting at 10 a.m.
Marchers will gather at Vineland Station in Whiteville and walk to the courthouse. More than 200 people turned out to honor the slain civil rights leader last year despite intermittent snow and freezing rain.
The event is open to groups, individuals, churches and anyone who wants to honor King. The annual event is sponsored by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Whiteville Alumni chapter.
