Mr. Ervin J. Holmes, known as “Crab”, 74, of Tallahassee, FL., formerly of Whiteville, NC exchanged his life for a home in glory on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, The Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
He was the son of Ms. Beatrice Holmes and the late Mr. Ervin and Mrs. Zilphia Hall of Whiteville, NC, and the father of the late Tanesha Missy Monroe. He was also predeceased by two brothers and one sister: Ervin Dwight Hall, Tony Curtis Daniels, and Cheryl Hall Godwin Hill.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm from Diamond Branch Missionary Baptist Church and burial will follow in Campground Cemetery, Whiteville, NC.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his mother: Ms. Beatrice Holmes, his children: Delicia Chislom, Sonya Holmes, Alisha Holmes, and Ervin Holmes, Jr., his sisters: Jacqueline Daniels, Zilphia Collier, Annie Sharp, Sonya Fultz, brothers: Julius Murphy, Kenneth Hall, Lorenzo Hall, and Wayne Hall, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
Friends may visit the family at the home of Mr. Wayne “Chick” Hall, 113 Hall’s Lane, Whiteville, NC 28472.
