Brenda H. Wallace

December 10, 1947 ~ November 8, 2024 (age 76)

Brenda H. Wallace, age 76, of Delco, NC, passed away peacefully Friday, November 8, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington, NC.

What started at a stoplight in Chadbourn, North Carolina in 1966 was one man’s desperate long shot to curry favor with a 19 year-old beautiful girl of Western Prong, Brenda Sue High. This little chance at success but bold attempt at love led to a date the following Friday night; a date that surprisingly, Brenda went on willingly. This date that led to a 57 year marriage to W.T. We are happy to report that W.T. never second guessed his actions that day and Brenda never publicly admitted she wished the stoplight had turned green.

Their union led to two children, Pamela Miller (Shane) of Delco and Ashley Wallace of Leland; which led to her three grandchildren, Shana Rae Klutz (Daniel), Christian Wallace and Harrison Wallace. While one may argue people should not have favorites, Brenda did, in fact, have a favorite nephew Alan High (Elizabeth) of Whiteville.

While we may wish red lights to stay red forever and for traffic to be frozen in time, sadly that is not the case. For Brenda, her light turned green on November 8, 2024 when she traded this earth for her place with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of that beautiful girl Brenda Wallace, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, dear friend, and steadfast prayer warrior.

She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others first and sharing her warmth and kindness with all who knew her. As a wife, she stood by her husband’s side through all of life’s joys and challenges. As a mother, she provided unwavering love and guidance to her children, instilling in them the values of compassion, hard work, and faith. Brenda’s role as a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, offering them wisdom, comfort, and love. Her faith was her anchor, and Brenda was a prayer warrior. Brenda’s warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for God and her family will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, love, and kindness.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Waldon and Buelah Mae High of Whiteville, her brother Donald Lee High, and her favorite in-laws Willie (Bill) Love Wallace, Jr. and Dora Malpass  Wallace.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Livingston Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 12:00 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare at lifecare.org.
