Anne Cox Marshburn-Duncan, 86, died on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Shoreland Healthcare in Whiteville.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Brown Cox of Richlands. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Carl Marshburn of Jacksonville and her second husband, James Duncan of Chadbourn; step-children, Wanda “Bunny” Nance, Jeff Duncan, Peggy Shaw.
An active member of Chadbourn Baptist Church and served as secretary/treasurer of Klondyke Garden Club for 17 years. She was employed in her early years by Federal Finance Company in Jacksonville, NC, Whiteville City Schools, Chadbourn Insurance Agency and for more than 25 years as business manager at Chadbourn Family Practice with Dr. Essam Eskander.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Chadbourn Baptist Church with Reverend C.F. McDowell, III, Dr. David Vess, Reverend Dave Crumpler officiating. A private interment will take place on Friday at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service on Wednesday at Chadbourn Baptist Church.
Anne is survived by one daughter, Melanie Pate (Edward) and one son, Wade Marshburn (Wendy); four grandchildren, Quinna Lawson (Phillip), Hannah Pate Hall (Josh), Ethan Marshburn (Carol), and Caroline Pate Jones (Zachary); four great-grandsons, Cullen, Oliver, Samuel, Issac; sister, Nancy Hudson of Catherine Lake, NC; step-grandchildren, Nicky Nance (Angie), Heath Nance (Andrea), Blair D. Andrews, and Steven Shaw; step great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Jordan, Anna Kay, Emma, Amber; special nieces and nephews, Trisha Worrell, Kathy Sifford, Eric Hudson, Gary Marshburn, Kerri Smith, and many great- nieces and nephew
