A motorcyclist became the second county road death in three days Monday.
James Dicicco, 57, of Evergreen crashed on a curve on Princess Ann Road, Sgt. K. McVicker said. The motorcycle left the highway and Dicicco was thrown from his 2013 Harley Davidson.
The wreck occurred within sight of a graveside funeral at Macedonia Church just before 2:30 p.m.
A total of 29 traffic deaths have occurred on Columbus and Bladen counties this year, McVicker said. A total of 30 people died in traffic crashes in both counties at this time last year.
The last previous fatality occurred Friday (Dec. 13). Former Whiteville and Tabor City policeman Clay Hagood died in a head-on collision near Hallsboro.
